Extremely rare device, with almost no information or reviews available. Seems it was introduced in 2008 but quickly discontinued. The ball is semitransparent with layer of silver sparkles, supported by 3.0mm steel balls. Controller is Elan eKM8022APJ, sensor is 800 cpi Agilent ADNS-2051, switches are Zippy DS-P1 (smaller than typical Omron D2F kind). Encoder is mechanical. Device is well made: all the parts are firmly fixed, no any squeaking or free play. Two metal blocks attached inside to increase weight and stability.

The shape resembles Logitech Marble or Kensington Orbit, but it's equipped with scrollwheel. Buttons are small: they're looking similar to the Logitech's additional Back/Forward ones on Marble, while black surrounding parts aren't clickable, being part of casing.

Strange aspect of design is an enclosed ball: it's impossible to clean without complete disassembly. I've increased the diameter of hole in the case, to make it easily removable. Also replaced steel balls witn 3.175mm ZrO2 ceramic ones.

In actual use, this trackball is fine: nice moving and clicking feel, convenient shape and ball placement. The only weak point IMHO is the size of buttons: bigger ones would be much more convenient. This is especially true for the right button, as the left one is located directly under thumb and is easily accessible. Nonetheless, I've quickly found that clicking the right button with middle phalanx essentially overcomes that issue.
